Welcome to my hopefully interesting account of Edinburgh 2015.
I’m here for my first Fringe and jumped straight in at the deep end – not only am I doing a solo show for the whole month but I’ve also booked myself in for (at time of going press) 42 guest slots in other people’s shows – a combination of Mentalism performances, Panel shows and Street work. It’s all pretty new to me and I’m really excited to see how I progress as an entertainer and what sort of reaction my performances get from the public.
It’s gonna be a hectic month but I want to record as much of it as I can for posterity and, hopefully, to make an interesting read. So…
Thurs 6th August 2015
All last night my excitement battled fatigue, and eventually won. Fatigue put up a good fight but there was too much running through my already overloaded mind so I stayed up most the night thinking and planning, and then took a 4am trip to Tesco to stock up on a basketful of Blu-Tac for the mammoth poster-posting task that would await me. The day’s been really successful so far – lovely train ride, a great lecture on how to sell my show well run by the ever impressive Fringe Central team, saw my venue for the first time which is massive and perfectly laid out, and one of the main worries on my mind parted. Then finally finalised my flyers, of which 5,000 are currently printing. This is what they look like:
Gotta keep this one brief – siesta time before meeting some important people and then performing my first guest slot. Exciting and turbulent times ahead..Goodnight/late afternoon. Watch this spazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
